Would that be the same issue for my system? I have the Technics RS-TR515 which is the dual-auto reverse, dual recorder. When I put a tape in, hit play. I acts like it wants to do something. Then stops. Same for FF for RWD modes. Before it was packed into storage for 8 yr it was working fine. I was all wrapped up in layers of bubble wrap and inside a storage container too. All climate controlled.

The main advantage the Insignia has over something like the 3116 is a very nice built in power supply, with a beefy toroidal transformer and nice filter caps. whereas the 3116 is usually being run off a laptop power adapter with an iron core transformer and very poor component’s quality. As for the 3118 and 2020, I feel they are simply designed for a different market. And are not really intended to be as high end. Even with a better quality power source.

I.just bought the jlab rewinds..At 1st volume was low, ,also , then i.put bands around the foam earpads..it helped, buttt!!! Mine also ,in the left ear speaker, it seems ,like its more in the jlab/ eq chip..The girl who does the sound sigs, sounds good , for , a ,second , then ,she ends crackled sounding , and thats ,the same nonsense, im dealing with in my left speaker..Right speaker ,sounds good, butt, they both with the sound signature girl, sound cracled, with signatue/ bass / balanced modes...im. not sure ,!! Other wise, if it didnt have tbe crackling , they would sound ok..there not loud, i dont xpect em ,to ,be amazing, butt, that cracking in her announcement, and at higher volumes drives me nuts..it must be a big problem, jlab, has not addressed, cause theres quite a few on these comments ...
